COMMENT: Sarah’s search for answers a brave step for anyone to take

COMPARING family photographs to see the characteristics we’ve inherited from our parents is something most of us take for granted.
For 34-year-old Sarah it’s something she can only imagine.
Left on a doorstep in Headington as a newborn baby, Sarah, who is now a mother-of-two, has grown up without knowing who her birth parents are or why she was abandoned.
When she had her own children the need for answers only intensified.
It was during a Christmas gathering with her husband’s family when she came to the realisation that she has never “looked like anyone”.
And in her quest for information, Sarah has taken the brave step of opening up and telling her story, as heart-wrenching as it is.
She has posted pictures of herself on Facebook as a baby just hours old in the arms of a nurse at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
She’s had an overwhelming response but still no answers.
When the story broke at the time it captured the attention of people desperate, as Sarah is, to know who and why.
Let’s hope her appeal, 34 years on, gets the same level of interest and will ultimately lead to the answers she needs.
