Christ Church college is expected to announce a successor to dean Rev Christopher Lewis soon.

Mr Lewis is to leave this summer after 11 years in the job.

The college is aiming for a successor to replace him by October 1.

The dean of Christ Church must have been a priest of the Church of England for at least six years and chairs both the college’s governing body and its Cathedral Chapter.

The successor will be formally appointed by Her Majesty the Queen and Bishop of Oxford John Pritchard has also been consulted.

Interviews were held in March.
