PRINCESS Anne visited Oxford on Saturday to meet international leaders from all over the Commonwealth.
She was guest of honour at the Commonwealth Study Conference, held at Oxford University’s Examinations Schools.
About 100 people attended the event and discussed how to use technology to improve society, after visiting cities across the country to learn about challenges facing businesses, governments and society.
Project director Vanessa Emmett, from Oxford, said: “We held the conference here because it’s an iconic city that’s known throughout the world for being a leader in technology research and for providing world leaders.
“We wanted to bring them together to get a better understanding of each other’s cultures and to collaborate in solving their common problems.”
Old Marston resident Patrick Tolani, executive director for Nigeria’s Institute for Oil, Gas, Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development, said: “It’s great this conference all came together in my city. I feel a deep sense of pride that Oxford can host this event. It’s a very diverse city that has a strong sense of cohesion.” Picture: OX66244 Damian Halliwell
