Isn't this getting rather silly? Anyway, I thought dog racing was a thing of the past, like cloth caps and spit and sawdust pubs.

No mate you thought wrong. It is still a major part of the sporting calender and betting industry. An indusrty that includes Football, Horse Racing, Cricket, Boxing, Rugby etc, etc, And hopefully we will be able to enjoy a night out at Oxford Dogs, with the magnificent sight of the four legged athletes racing around the track sooner rather than later.
