A PRODUCTION of Peter Pan will hit a city stage this week with an amazing array of props – not from Neverland, but the humble skip.

Props mistress Nathalie Soanes said she was at first daunted with the list for the production by Headington’s Lime Walk players.

The show will run from tomorrow until Saturday with a 7.30pm performance each day and a 2.30pm Saturday matinee at the Methodist Church Hall, New High Street.

The Beckley resident, 51, said: “I work for the University of Oxford’s chemistry department as a PA and there is a big skip at the back of our building which is full of interesting things just being thrown away.

“As something went in the skip I looked at what I could do with it and it’s been amazing.

“I have made a rowing boat from an old metal trolley, a crocodile from old ink cartridge boxes and I have been out in Beckley Woods collecting old branches to make everyone a tomahawk and sword.”

She added: “I probably watched too much Blue Peter when I was younger and my long-suffering family have been living amongst chaos for months.”

Cast member and director Roy Peach, 26, said Ms Soanes has been the “star of the show”.

He said: “We have probably only been able to do it because of the amount of help we have had..”
