Campaigning students spread message of diversity
10:00am Saturday 15th March 2014 in News
STUDENTS campaigned outside the Radcliffe Camera yesterday to spread positive messages about University College.
The campaign, organised by first-year PPE student Alex Wilson, follows a high profile demonstration last week by students from Oxford colleges highlighting claimed experiences of racism. The 19-year-old from University College met fellow students to expand upon the ‘I too am Oxford’ demonstration with positive messages about diversity at the university. Alex said: “We don’t want people to feel different.”
Fellow University College student Sarah Boyd, 20, said: “Oxford has put so much into trying to attract students from different backgrounds.”
The campaigners also set up an account on social networking site tumblr featuring positive images.
