A 29-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for forcing his way into a young woman’s home and carrying out a “terrifying” sex attack.

Ali Noor of James Street, Oxford, was sentenced to three years in prison yesterday at Oxford Crown Court after admitting one count of sexual assault.

Elisabeth Bussey-Jones, prosecuting, said he knocked on his victim’s door in East Oxford, at about 1.45am on Thursday, January 14.

The barrister said the woman opened the door slightly and heard Noor ask for a glass of water, which she refused him, before he suddenly pushed his way in.

She told Judge Patrick Eccles he then jumped on top of her and subjected her to a “thrusting” sexual assault in which he kissed her and bit her lip.

Miss Bussey-Jones read out a statement from his victim in which she said: “As a consequence of this crime I was scared to walk home alone.

“When I see anyone who looks like the defendant I become scared and worried.”

Passing sentence Judge Eccles told Noor: “This was a truly terrifying attack.”
