AN Oxford University events co-ordinator has taken her former employer to a tribunal claiming she was bullied out of her job at Kellogg College because of her age.

Catriona Carter Jonas, of Adkin Way, Wantage, is suing the chancellor, masters and scholars of the university for alleged discrimination on age grounds, unfair dismissal and non-payment of outstanding wages.

The 53-year-old told the Reading tribunal she had been subjected to “nasty treatment” from January 2011 until she resigned on March 19 last year.

She said she spent six years working as an administrative assistant and events co-ordinator at the college but claimed she was forced out by line manager Donna Lipsky.

Miss Carter Jonas also told the tribunal her former line manager Sarah Gauntlett, who was succeeded by Mrs Lipsky in January 2012, called her a “wrinkly old bag” and asked if she was strong enough to move furniture for events.

The tribunal is expected to conclude today.
