UP on the catwalk during Oxford Fashion Week, Face of Oxford Phoebe Drinkall enjoyed the time of her life.

Now she has the chance to strike a pose for the second time in a year as organisers plan to stage a sequel in November.

“It was an incredible week, I had so much fun doing it,” said Miss Drinkall, 20.

“I feel quite emotional about it now – I feel quite proud that I’ve done it and managed it.

“It was very special and quite unique – this doesn’t happen every day or to everyone.”

Miss Drinkall, an Oxford Brookes international relations student, said she was looking forward to another show in November, and next time round could also get involved in organising the show.

She added: “I may be taking part in a different way. I’d love to get more of a say in what goes on and take part in one of the shows.

“I’d be happy to do anything backstage – from dressing the models to having a creative input.

“I don’t have any experience of anything like that, but then I said that about being the Face of Oxford and I managed that all right.”

Miss Drinkall said more people should get involved in Oxford Fashion Week.

“I’m definitely going to get as many people as I can involved and do a bit of model scouting myself,” she said.

“If it can keep growing and getting better that’s great.”

Last week Oxford was transformed into a national centre for fashion with a series of striking shows.

Designers from across the country showed off their latest creations, using models, artists and staff from across Oxfordshire.

Oxford Fashion Week director Carl Anglim confirmed he was planning to organise another fashion week in November, with organisers holding open castings to find models.

Last week saw five catwalk shows, as well as a photography exhibition and a speaker event debating ethical fashion.

Mr Anglim, who founded the event in 2009, returned to the helm as director after not being involved with the 2012 show and said 2013 was the most successful show to date.

Saturday’s Concept Show combined fashion with conceptual art and Mr Anglim said: “The Concept and Couture Shows are the twin peaks of the show – it’s why we finished the week with them.

“They are the biggest creatively, and can make the strongest contribution to fashion.”
