POLICE say they are increasingly concerned for the welfare of a missing 28-year-old woman.

Joanna Stannard was last seen at her home in Bullingdon Road, Oxford, earlier yesterday.

She is described as white, 5ft, 8in, slim build with short hair. She wears fine rimmed spectacles and often wears a sheepskin sleeveless jacket although it is not known if she was wearing this.

She took her bicycle which is described as pink/purple, with a basket on the back.

Sgt Laurence Kelleher leading the search said: "We are increasingly concerned for Joanna’s welfare. We believe she left home in a distressed state and so we are urgently trying to locate her so we can make sure she is safe.

"We would urge anyone who has seen her or knows of her whereabouts to please contact us as a matter of urgency. She is not in any trouble, we just want her home safe and sound.”

Anyone who has any information about Joanna’s whereabouts is asked to call the Thames Valley Police 24 hour non-emergency line 101 and ask for Sgt Kelleher.
