Firefighters said that closed doors helped to minimise damage following a house fire in Blackbird Leys.
Two crews were called to the blaze in Kestrel Crescent at 11.30am on Thursday.
Crews put out the fire in the living room which had also spread to an upstairs bedroom.
Watch manager Will McPhail from Slade Park Fire Station said: “The fact that the occupants had their doors closed at the time of the fire minimised the damage to the property and contained the fire to the room of origin and the bedroom above.”
