One of the problems is that roads are constantly been dug-up by service contractors, and repairs to the road surface often not sufficient for the very heavy use by traffic on London Road - especially big logistics and delivery vehicles serving Headington and Oxford, and the constant flow of ever larger and heavier buses and coaches which use London Road. Here has also been a dramatc rise in vehicular access not only the the various hospitals around Headington, but traffic to and from Brookes, with London Road carrying the burden as major transport route not only into and out of Headington, but also central Oxford from the Ring Road, A40 and M40. Labour Group on both City and County councils has shown a poor track record over the years in trying to do anything, despite 13 years when Labour was in government. Nor has the growth in Park and Ride services helped, with more amd heavier feeder buses adding to bus services to Headington, Barton and furter afield - including buses to Aylesbury, the various London Airports, and the duopoly which serves London - with the Oxford Tube sending its massive double-deck coaches up and down the London Road every ten minutes!
