Update: St Ebbe's Street closed by police after man suffers serious head injury in assault
A 23-YEAR-OLD man is in hospital with head injuries after a serious assault in St Ebbe’s Street in the early hours of this morning.
Police have cordoned off the city centre street following the attack at about 3am.
The victim is being treated at the John Radcliffe Hospital and police have described is condition as serious.
A 40-year-old Bicester man is currently being held in police custody on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
The street is cordoned off from the junction at Pembroke Street up to the end of the Camera nightclub. Two PCSOs are standing guard in the cordoned off area.
A kebab van outside the cordoned off area is also tied up with police tape.
