SHE’S a big sister to be proud of.
Phoebe Drinkall, who is studying international relations at Oxford Brookes, was named Oxford Fashion Week’s Face of Oxford at an event on Friday night.
After deliberation by a panel of six judges, the 20-year-old was chosen out of 135 male and female models.
And Miss Drinkall, who is the oldest of nine siblings, said: “There was such a variety of people who had modelled before and those who hadn’t and everyone was lovely.
“I think it will be a great week.”
She said she hadn’t done any modelling before but had entered along with a work colleague from Jigsaw, on High Street.
She added: “All my younger siblings were very excited when I told them on the phone.”
The public also got a chance to vote by liking pictures of those shortlisted on Facebook and Miss Drinkall got 310 votes.
On the judging panel were previous winners Tiffany Saunders, from 2010, and Emma Appleton, from 2011, who are organising the lingerie show.
And fashion week director and judge Carl Anglim said: “The crucial things we were looking for in this year’s Face of Oxford was someone who had a unique look that stood out and was interesting, but who also added a certain presence to the room.
“Phoebe had those qualities, had done well in the public vote and all five casting directors had also picked her for their shows.”
In total, 11 models were shortlisted for the Face of Oxford title and they have all received two tickets for friends and family to attend runway shows.
Oxford Fashion Week will run from March 3 to 9 and opens with a launch party at The Living Room, on Castle Street in Oxford, on March 3 at 8pm.
