ALEXANDER Choi, five, joined other children at the Museum of Oxford this week to turn shoeboxes into narrow boats.

The workshops, “Inspired By Oxford Canal”, were about life on the waterways in Oxfordshire and were organised by Summertown-based artist Francesca Shakespeare.

Grandmother Lucille Choi, from Old Marston said: “Alexander really enjoyed himself. His mum lives in Jericho and is familar with the canal schemes so he was really looking forward to going.

“When he got home, he put his boat in a special box and really treasured it.”

The 70-year-old added: “It was also nice for me to get a chance to chat to other grandparents.’’
