THE Cowley Mini plant is looking to fill eight new positions on a new graduate recruitment programme.

Applicants from a variety of backgrounds from engineering and finance to business and IT are being urged to apply for the two-year programme which begins in October.

Student Ciaran Raymer, 23, is currently working at the plant as an intern as part of his year in industry.

He is studying business and enterprise at Chester University and is based in the Cowley works’ process management team.

He said: “I have had the opportunity to work with experts giving me access to an unparalleled level of knowledge.

“The launch of the graduate scheme will be a great opportunity for anyone wanting to pursue a career in the automotive sector.”

The graduates will complete five placements on various projects to give them to gain an insight into how the company is run.

A total of 13 placements are available on the scheme with four at the pressings plant Swindon and one at the company’s engine plant near Birmingham.

Holly Chalmers, BMW Group UK’s recruitment and staffing manager, joined the company 25 years ago on a training scheme and has worked across a variety of human resources disciplines during her career.
