FLOODING: ‘Submarine’ spotted on Abingdon Road

One city resident had a bit of fun amid the news of watery woes yesterday by mocking up this picture of a U-boat cruising down flooded Abingdon Road.

Reader Alan Crowder sent in the image, and said: “Just spotted by my mate Chris Ledger cruising along the Abingdon Road.”

This is HMS Tireless a Trafalgar class sub . There are better images of her including the one on the BBC Oxford Facebook Page. She IS in service and left her Devonport base today to go on patrol.
