Residents in west Oxford praised the Environment Agency for its efforts to reduce the impact of flooding yesterday.
Agency staff were pumping water from Duke Street and Earl Street, where residents were last night being warned their properties could flood in the next 24 hours.
Earl Street resident Andy Webber, 61, said: “They’ve been absolutely brilliant, working their guts out to keep us dry.
“Everyone’s working as hard as they can.”
