8:30am Saturday 8th February 2014 in News
A WHEATLEY man who reached into a stranger’s pocket and tried to steal his wallet has been told to carry out unpaid work.
Benjamin Joy, 29, of Kimber Close, admitted one count of attempted theft against Joseph Drake in High Street, Wheatley, on June 7 last year.
He was very drunk at the time and yesterday in Oxford Crown Court he received a six-month jail term, suspended for two years, with 180 hours of unpaid work.
He was also told to pay £200 compensation, £200 costs and a £100 victims’ surcharge.
