CLASSIC children’s storybook characters will be celebrated at a new exhibition.
The Story Museum in Oxford is to open to the public for the special exhibition in April.
Marketing assistant Alex Coke said the museum would not fully open until the £8m needed for the project was raised and the work completed. But she said the children’s story character display would be a “taste of things to come” for visitors.
She said: “It is our biggest exhibition yet. Our longest one before was three months. This a big venture for us.”
Miss Coke also said the museum was hoping volunteers would come forward to help run the show. She said: “We are looking for volunteers to help set up the exhibition, curate it, and look after the guests.”
The new exhibition opens at the Pembroke Street museum on April 5 and will run until November.
