Fundraising students have landed in Japan on a “Jailbreak” mission.
The Oxford University Raise and Give (RAG) group, made up of New College students Charlie Parkes, Rob Harris and Caitlin Place, were offered free flights to Tokyo by Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson, after one of them met him over Christmas, the student newspaper Cherwell reported.
The idea of Jailbreak is for participants to travel as far away from Oxford as possible without spending any money.
Proceeds raised will go to Education Partnerships Africa; Students Supporting Street Kids; The Oxford Food Bank; and Giving What We Can.
Sir Richard tweeted: “Best of luck to the @oxfordrag Jailbreak teams. Love this spirit of adventure!”
