A man found dead at his Blackbird Leys home probably died after suffering an epileptic fit, an inquest heard on Tuesday.
John Drewett, 64, of Green Hill, was found dead in his bed on August 22 last year.
The Oxford-born gardener, who suffered from epilepsy, had last been seen three days earlier.
Coroner Darren Salter gave a verdict of death by natural cases at Oxfordshire Coroners’ Court yesterday.
A medical cause of death was given as unknown natural causes.
Extra tests including toxicology could not be carried out because the body had decomposed, the inquest heard.
Of the death, the coroner said: “It is likely to have been caused by epilepsy.”
Mr Drewett, a regular at K K Cappuccino & Baguette Bar in Cowley, was last seen by neighbours on August 19.
GP Eleri Shellens, from Leys Health Centre, said Mr Drewett suffered up to 12 fits a year, although the inquest heard there could have been more he did not report.
