A MAN has admitted possessing around £87,000 of drugs and a range of banned weapons found when police raided an Oxford flat.

Sean Flaherty, of Territorial Way, Headington, has now pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine and MDMA – both Class A drugs – with intent to supply.

The 31-year-old also admitted possessing a number of banned weapons – a single-shot handgun, a stun gun disguised as a mobile phone, and an incapacitator spray.

The drugs and weapons were found when police searched a property in Headington, Oxford, on Friday, September 6 last year.

Yesterday at Oxford Crown Court, prosecutor Jonathan Stone said police recovered 603g of cocaine, which together with 27g of MDMA found had an estimated a street value of about £87,000.

The barrister added that two of the weapons Flaherty had admitted to possessing, the handgun and disguised stun gun, carry five-year mandatory minimum jail sentences.

Judge Gordon Risius adjourned the case so that a report could be prepared by the probation service, but said that an immediate custodial sentence was unavoidable.

Flaherty was remanded in custody to appear at the crown court again on March 4 this year for a sentencing hearing.
