Oxford is among the British cities with the most rapidly growing population.
The figure has been revealed in the annual Centre for Cities Outlook report which compares the UK’s largest 64 cities and towns.
Oxford comes in eighth place with an annual growth rate of 1.1 per cent.
It also has the sixth highest level of people claiming Jobseekers’ allowance at 1.6 per cent – though this has gone down over the past year.
