THERE is something magical about The Oscars. No disrespect to the Golden Globes, or our own Baftas, but nothing can top that little gold statuette.
Most of us can only dream of walking that red carpet and hearing our name read aloud as a nominee at the ceremony.
But Oxfordshire’s own Niv Adiri will be living that dream in April.
Niv has been nominated for an Oscar in the Sound Mixing category for his work on the space drama Gravity, starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock.
The film has nine other nominations and is a hot tip to clean up this year.
If it does, Clooney and Bullock’s characters may not be the only ones unable to keep their feet on the ground.
