WORK has been completed on a new fitness trail in Cowley Marsh.
The trail in East Oxford covers 1km and has exercise stations located at intervals so people can run on grass or paths from station to station.
Each station has signs showing people how to use the equipment and distance markers will help measure the run.
The trail is part of a £160,000 Oxford City Council programme in partnership with Groundwork South to create five fitness trails across the city.
City councillor Mark Lygo, executive board member for parks, sport and events, said: “This fitness trail is a great feature for this popular park, providing opportunities for residents to exercise in the fresh air.”
The trail includes a cross trainer, treadmill, stepper, leg, shoulder and chest presses, hand bike, treadmill along with parallel bars for an all-round work out.
Consultation is under way for similar fitness trails at South Park and in Blackbird Leys.
