A CONSULTATION on council plans for a new primary school in Barton closed yesterday.
Oxfordshire County Council was asking for residents’ views on the proposal for the school, which could be constructed as part of a development that could see almost 900 homes built in the area.
Yesterday the council confirmed it had received 40 responses to the school plan. The new school will take 420 children once it is full and it is expected to open in 2018. Under the Education Act 2011, all new schools have to be academies or free schools.
The county council will publish a summary of the responses at the beginning of March.
