A CHOIR performed carols at Oxford railway station to raise money for homeless people in the city.

Appleton Community Choir sang the festive songs between 6pm and 8pm on Tuesday.

The group was raising funds for the Oxford Poverty Action Trust (OxPAT).

Appleton grandmother-of-two Trish Wagstaff, pictured centre, said: “People were very generous and it was fun to do.”

The 81-year-old added: “There were people smiling all over the place.”

The choir’s performance raised £314.
