PEOPLE can find out more about the history of Oxford in a new book launched by the Oxford Preservation Trust.
Heritage Walks — on foot from Oxford Castle to St Giles was written by historian Malcolm Graham with illustrations by former conservation officer Edith Gollnast.
A book signing was held on Thursday last week at the Visitor Information Centre in Broad Street.
Debbie Dance, trust director said: “Malcolm knows so much and can tell it so well. We just wanted to find a way to capture this and to share it with as wide an audience as possible.
“Edith’s illustrations make it even more compelling.
“We are also fortunate to have the maps designed by renowned Oxford cartographer Alun Jones, whose maps are as distinctive as they are authoritative.”
The book is also available online at http://oxfordpreservation. org.uk/news/eventsBook.php or from the Oxford Preservation Trust office at 10 Turn Again Lane.
