BEACH balls helped illustrate a fun talk to pupils about the miracles of science.

Oxford University physics students Lauren Peters and Kirsty Duffy demonstrated how a particle accelerator works.

Youngsters from county schools made a Mexican wave and bounced the beach balls around as the students explained the science behind particles.

Third year student Miss Peters, 20, hosted the event at the Museum of Natural History Lecture Theatre.

She said: β€œIt went very well. We also had a very enthusiastic group who were very keen to be involved.”
