POLICE have reopened Port Meadow in Oxford, which was closed yesterday after a man’s body was found in a tent.

Emergency services cordoned off all entrances to the popular beauty spot after the discovery was made at about 12.30pm.

Police believe the tent was filled with a poisonous gas and six people were treated and discharged by paramedics at the scene.

Officers reopened Port Meadow late last night.

The death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious. The victim has not been identified.

Yesterday, police said they believed the chemical involved in the death was hydrogen sulphide, a dangerous poison.
