Scrabble expert and Oxford University PhD student Chris May has been confirmed as a Guinness world record holder.
Oxford Scrabble Club member Mr May, originally from Sydney, Australia, has now officially set the world record for the most simultaneous games of Scrabble played by an individual.
He managed to play 28 games during the attempt in June, as featured in the Oxford Mail, beating the previous record of 25 games set in India in 2007 by Ganesh Asirvatham. Mr May received formal certification of the record last week.
