Understanding survival struggles
1:00pm Tuesday 17th September 2013 in News
OXFORD University MBA student Deepak Patnaik got down on his knees to sell paper bags as part of campaign to raise awareness of global poverty.
The event, called Struggle for Survival, was organised by Oxford University’s Said Business School and about 100 of the graduating MBA class took part to consider life in an Indian slum.
Mr Patnaik, 30, said: “It was deeply insightful and gave us a window into the world of extreme poverty.
“It gave us a first-hand understanding of the way poor people have to make ends meet every day.”
The event was run by international charity Global Hand and took place on Friday, September 13.
