Seven-year-old Erin Murphy was inspired to make her own junk model after examining this eye-catching plastic bag chicken.
The Abingdon youngster created a collage of Edward Lear’s poem The Owl and the Pussycat from cartons, egg boxes and other materials at the drop-in recycling workshop at Oxford’s Pitt Rivers Museum.
She said: “It was fun because you get to see what you can make from old trash.”
Erin’s dad, Mike Murphy, 49, from Abingdon, who is a quality specialist at the Mini factory, said: “The workshops are really good. It is free to get in and really gets the kids’ imaginations going.”
