A major project to upgrade the railway line from Oxford to Bedford via Milton Keynes will not get cash from Oxford City Council, the authority confirmed last night.
The East-West Railway Joint Delivery Board met in Aylesbury to agree £50m to get the £500m scheme off the ground.
Oxfordshire County Council is set to put in the largest share, £20.04m – with Buckinghamshire County Council putting in £15.5m and A further £14.35m from Milton Keynes, Bedford and Central Bedfordshire.
