Sandy Lane level crossing closed because of fault
10:56pm Tuesday 19th March 2013 in News
SANDY Lane level crossing - where a man died in a crash with a train in January - is closed tonight because of a fault with the barrier.
A police spokesman said the level crossing between Yarnton and Kidlington is closed because of the fault.
Network Rail staff are on their way to the crossing to fix it.
In January Tom Pizzey, from Banbury, died when his car was hit by a train at the crossing.
Today the Oxford Mail revealed the level crossing had 21 faults last year and that Network Rail was working to improve safety there.

There is a fault with the barrier, no one was killed or injured, there were no near misses.
Network Rail's system works.
Yeah, clearly working perfectly.
