TODAY is Red Nose Day and we hope you all have a lot of fun and raise some much needed funds for good causes in the process.
TV comedian Miranda Hart was in the city yesterday for her own challenge as expectation grew about another year of wacky stunts and shavings of heads for Comic Relief.
But crucially, today is also the deadline for the Red Nose Community Cash grants applications, with a £50,000 pot available for charities and community groups in our county. They can apply for between £500 and £1,000 – a tidy little sum in these economic times.
A panel run by the Oxfordshire Community Fund – including representatives from Comic Relief and the Oxford Mail – will decide who gets the cash, and we are proud to be on board.
More than 50 organisations – those that do such good work for our community – stand to benefit, so we’d urge them all to apply online today at oxfordshire.org or on 01865 798666.
A £1,000 grant will bring a smile to anyone’s face on Red Nose Day of all days.
