STARS of a West End musical cast are calling for Oxford to rally in support of Red Nose Day.

Soul Sister, running at Oxford’s New Theatre until tomorrow, is about the life of legendary soul singer Tina Turner.

Emi Wokoma, who plays the lead, said: “Red Nose Day is back on Friday, March 15, and we want to get you fundraising and having a laugh doing something funny for money.

“We’ve had a great reception from the audience at the New Theatre, so we know that Oxford is full of fun people – so come on, what are you waiting for? Dress up and give it some soul for Red Nose Day.”

Meanwhile, Oxfordshire’s community groups can apply for a £500 to £1,000 Red Nose Day Community Cash grant.

Up to £50,000 is on offer to community organisations, charities and social enterprises in Oxfordshire.Groups which have been established for less than 12 months are eligible to apply by going to oxfordshire. org/cp6.php by March 15.
