Armineh Ohanian
ARMENIAN author Armineh Ohanian spoke to students at Oxford University yesterday about her latest novel.
The grandmother from New York read extracts from The Apple Tree Blossoms in the Fall, a book based on her own experiences. She also ran a workshop on how to write about personal experiences. The event was organised to mark International Women’s Day.
Ms Ohanian, who is in her 70s, said: “It is a book that talks about the journey of the life of a Christian woman born and raised in pre-Islam Iran.
“It is about adventures and the challenges she faces in life, and how she overcomes all those challenges.”
Ms Ohanian left Iran with her husband and daughter when she was 25 years old, living in various countries in Europe before settling in New York, where she has been based for the past 30 years.
