Cyclist, 50, seriously hurt in hit-and-run

OXFORD: A 50-year-old cyclist suffered serious injuries yesterday following a hit and run with a car or van.

The crash happened at about 5.45am in Oxford Road, midway between Garsington and Oxford, near the junction with The Hill.

The cyclist was taken to the John Radcliffe hospital with injuries to his ribs and collarbone, and was said to be in a stable condition last night.

The vehicle involved did not stop and police are appealing for witnesses.
