RHYTHM, poetry and history came together in an unusual event at Oxford’s Ashmolean Museum.
The first Rhythm and Poetry (RAP) event was held at the museum on Saturday night.
Organiser Zahra Tehrani, from Cowley, said young performers were encouraged to write raps inspired by items in the museum, and then performed them next to the exhibits themselves.
She said: “It was all about getting young people to make lyrics about objects in the museum.
“Then they rapped and sang. It pushed them as rappers to write about something they’re not used to writing about.”
