Sex assault is a false alarm

POLICE cordoned off an area by Oxford’s Duke’s Cut pub yesterday following reports of a sexual assault.
Officers taped off the area towards the Worcester Street car park at 3.30am but the investigation was dropped and the cordon was removed at 11am.
The incident was reported by a passer-by but police said that when the alleged victim was contacted it turned out no offence had been committed.
