ORGANISATIONS in Oxford that are taking a stand against climate change came together for a day of action.
The event on Sunday – organised by the Oxford Climate Forum – saw hundreds of people visiting stalls, taking part in workshops and activities, and finding out more about how they could get involved in the fight against climate change.
School science technician Steve Ball, from Wolvercote, said: “An event like this is definitely important for anywhere to hold, and to get the point across to students who will be leading the world in the future.
“Nothing will change until most people have an idea of what climate change is.”
Alex Crumpton, 24, from South Oxford, is part of the committee for the forum and was in charge of organising the day of action in Turl Street and Broad Street.
She said: “It was all about showing people in Oxford all the different things they can do to combat climate change.
“A lot of the groups I have spoken to afterwards were saying really positive things about individual people and groups of people who had come up to them.
“They had never heard of them before but were able to go away knowing more and able to do things and get more involved in all the different things that happen in Oxford.”
