Nick Gill at the piano
VISITORS to St Michael’s Church in Oxford’s Cornmarket Street last week tapped their toes to The Entertainer at the latest in the church’s free Music on Mondays concerts.
Pianist Nick Gill played a selection of classic jazz and ragtime tunes to parishioners and tourists.
Mr Gill said: “The concert went very well, I had a good audience. I played a variety of pieces and which included George Gershwin, much to the enjoyment of a good audience.”
Mr Gill plays with his band Oxford Classic Jazz.
The Parish Church of St Michael at the North Gate holds free lunchtime concerts each Monday.
At the end of each recital a collection is taken and donations given to a charity nominated by each performer.
