Bullfinch: Girl ‘raped and sold for sex from age 12’

ONE victim said when she was “wasted” on drink and drugs she did not want to wake up and have to face more abuse, the jury heard.

The prosecution said the girl, who the jury heard was 12 when the alleged abuse began, was raped and sold for sex by Kamar Jamil and brothers Akhtar and Anjum Dogar between 2004 and 2012.

On one occasion they threatened to cut her head off before forcing her to perform a sex act, the jury heard.

The victim said there was a “pack mentality” with men encouraging each other to abuse her, the court heard. She reported the abuse to police in 2006, the jury also heard.

Prosecutor Noel Lucas said the girl, who cannot be named, was groomed by the defendants who bought her gifts. But he said the men changed their attitudes, and once threatened to burn her house down with her family inside, if she refused to go out with them.

Mr Lucas said the men took the girl to houses across the city and she was raped at Nanford Guest House in Iffley Road and the Travelodge at Pear Tree on the ring road. Photographs were taken of the abuse and sometimes she was forced to have sex with two or three men at the same time, he said.

Mr Lucas said: “She describes how she would be away from home at the houses to which she was taken for days at a time during which she was so wasted that she was, sometimes, barely aware of what was going on.”

He said the girl had described seeing other “drugged and emaciated” girls in the houses.

When there were no “customers” a man would guard her, he said.

Once she tried to leave, the men threatened to “finish her off”, Mr Lucas told the jury.

He added: “It got to the stage where she got wasted and let them get on with it for fear of getting a kicking.”

He said the young girl caught sex diseases and was often covered in bruises and burns where she had been stubbed with cigarettes.

She began to self-harm because of the abuse, he said.

He said the girl described her life as a “living hell”, adding: “When she was wasted she used to wish she would never come round and have to face it all again.”

The prosecutor said once, when the girl lied she was on her period to avoid abuse, she was driven out to Shotover Country Park by Jamil and Akhtar and Anjum ‘Jammy’ Dogar.

There they threatened to cut her head off before forcing her to perform a sex act on them, he said.

Mr Lucas said the girl claimed to have had sex with Assad Hussain a number of times.

Now in her 20s, the girl is due to give evidence next week.

He said when she was 12 or 13 she was brought to a flat in St Thomas’ Mews in the city centre where a man brought Champagne and cocaine.

Mr Lucas said the victim believes she had sex with this man more than 10 times. She also claims to have been abused in Florence Park, South Park and Angel and Greyhound Meadow.

Mr Lucas said shortly after her 15th birthday the girl decided to stop. She threw her phone away, stopped taking drugs, went back to school, and was able to “resist” the men.
