PARENTS interested in sending their child to Oxford’s first free school have another opportunity to meet the headteacher.

Tyndale Community School is planning to open in the former Lord Nuffield Club building in September.

The application process for places in reception is open until the end of the month. Richard Colbrook, the parent liaison for the new school, said: “Because Tyndale is a new school, parents can apply direct to Tyndale school prior to the January 15 deadline.

“This does not commit you to accepting a place at the school and because we are a new school you can apply directly to us in addition to listing three other schools as your three choices with Oxfordshire County Council.”

The closing date for applying to a primary school through the county council is tomorrow but those applying directly to Tyndale school have until Thursday, January 31.

Parents can meet the principal of the school, Liz Russo, at events held tomorrow and Wednesday at 7.30pm in Word Fountain Church Hall, Hollow Way, and Oxford Community Church in Osney Mead respectively, and also on Monday, January 21, at 7.30pm at The Regal in Cowley Road.
