Kassam Stadium: What's being said on the web
9:00am Saturday 5th January 2013 in News
OXFORD United fans took to the internet to vent their anger about a London Welsh bid to take over the stadium.
On Twitter, Malcolm Batchellier said: “Can’t let this happen. It says on the stadium the Kassam is ‘The Home of Oxford United’.”
Speaking for supporters’ group OxVox on the Oxford Mail website, Mark Sennett said: “I can say we are talking to OUFC and London Welsh about this subject.
“We will not stand by quietly and let anyone other than OUFC take over full ownership of the stadium.”
Meanwhile, Bartsimpson_uk said: “Whats the matter with OxVox?
“They are always on here moaning and groaning about Kassam, and yet when someone better comes in they still moan.
“Is it because they fear the rugby club will become more popular than Oxford Utd?”
Kidlington Dave said: “London Welsh owning the ground might seem, on the face of it, to be preferable to Kassam.
“But it would lead to potentially serious problems in the future. United games re-arranged to fit in with rugby matches, for starters.”
Andrew:Oxford said: “Surely this is exactly what Oxford United need to give them the impetus to building a new stadium elsewhere in the city?”
Bartsimpson_UK wrote: “Not a cat in hells chance of moving. Marston was suggested long before Kassam was built and it was objected by all the NIMBY’s there. Back in Headington!! Talk some sense will you. Oxford Utd will stay where they are and will have to talk to London Welsh not push them away.”
BenMolyneux tweeted: “Kassam denies talks for London Welsh to buy The Kassam Stadium. I wouldn’t put it past him.” And George Ogier posted: “If Kassam is denying the stadium sale requests and London Welsh are denying it too then who started the rumour?”

For gods sake OUFC fans, get over it and live with it.

By the looks of it The Oxford Mail, who now seem hell bent on stirring it up just to have something to print.
