FLOOD barriers on Oxford's Osney Island have been taken down by the Environment Agency.
Agency staff took them down in West Street and East Street in West Oxford this afternoon after a flood warning for the area was lifted this morning.
Joe Giacomelli, agency spokesman, said: “The drier weather has given river levels in that area the time to recover but we will still be keeping a close eye on the water over the next few days.”
He said the barriers in Vicarage Lane, South Oxford, will remain in place until Monday.
There are two flood warnings - which means flooding is expected - that remain in the county.
These are for the River Thames and tributaries at Sandford and Radley near Oxford, and the River Thames from Days Lock down to South Stoke, including Dorchester-on-Thames and Overy, Shillingford, Benson, Wallingford, North Stoke and Moulsford.
