Hope for zebra crossing

OXFORD: A transport boss is expected to approve a long called-for zebra crossing in Weirs Lane, South Oxford, tomorrow.

Oxfordshire County Council deputy leader Rodney Rose will be asked to authorise to crossing by the junction with Canning Crescent.

A council report says there is “widespread local support” for the plan, which has been requested for two decades.

Hopefully the residents will be given the relevant page of the highway code to tell them how to use the crossing properly, as opposed to the usual just walking out into the road and expecting a motorist to slam on the anchors.
