OXFORD: A man captured on CCTV at a gym when a car was stolen has been cleared of any involvement by police.
The man appeared in our Badvent Calendar pre-Christmas crime feature on December 11 as Thames Valley Police appealed for information about the car theft outside a Banbury Road gym on August 17.
The 31-year-old man, who asked not to be named, went to St Aldate’s Police Station on Friday, December 28.
He said: “They arrested me and put me in a cell and left me in there for a couple of hours before they questioned me and realised it was not me.
“It was a bit of a nightmare.”
